Flex-Efficiency – a concept for integration efficiency and flexibility by industrial consumers
Introducing the idea of flex-efficiency to meet the increasing demand for flexibility
With the growing share of renewable energies, the need for flexibility in the power system is increasing. Especially for large industrial consumers, there is great potential for flexible consumption and for profiting from the associated price fluctuations. For this, efficiency and flexibility must be thought of in an integrated way in design and operation. In order to effectively implement the concept of flex-efficiency, to enable the economic operation of plants and to stimulate corresponding investments, the flexibility markets and their products must be further improved.
